Near the Black Isle village of Munlochy there's a well.
Legend goes that the sick should wash a piece of clothing in that well, place the wet garment on their ailment and then hang it in the trees.
By the time the garment dries, the ailment is supposed to have gone.
According to the Scottish Forestry Commission, the brightly coloured rags or 'cloots' are also tokens of wishes and prayers.
It's quite an eerie place to walk through, though clearly popular.
